Leroy Township Board Meeting

Tuesday, August 11, 2026 – 6:00 p.m.

Township Hall – 1685 N. M-52, Webberville, MI.

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Supervisor, Earl L. Griffes.

Board members present: Earl L. Griffes, Gina L. Whitehead, Heidi Ream, R. Scott Diederich and Loretta K. Benjamin.

Also present: Dennis Dyko and Steve Moreno.

July 7, 2026, meeting minutes were presented to the Board. Motioned by Ream and Seconded by Benjamin to accept minutes as presented. Board voice vote: 5-Ayes 0-Nays

No public comment.

Old Business was about the AFLAC concern and was brought to the Board, by Griffes. The claim was denied and coverage has been canceled.

Maner Costerisan 2026 Audit drafts were presented to the Board. Final documents from the Township’s auditors will be presented and adopted at the next board meeting.

NIESA meeting minutes from July 9, 2026, was brought to the Board by Diederich. The Audit report was provided by Alyssa Horner of Gabridge & Company and was approved by the Board. President Takovich reported with a union update and has been working on contract. A resolution was made to honor Dorothy Hart for her decades of service to the surrounding communities. NIESA’s building signs for stations 61 & 62 are being quoted for updates. Sad news of Franz Wilbrink’s passing and scrambling to fill the open position. Griffes commented that Bruce Miller would be a good fit with his experience. There was a special finance meeting held on July 22, 2026, for a mileage that will need to be voted on by the residents at a future election.

Payment of bills was presented to the Board. Motioned by Benjamin and seconded by Ream to pay the bills as presented. Roll call vote: Griffes-Yes, Ream-Yes, Diederich-Yes, Benjamin-Yes, Whitehead-Yes. Motion passed.

No correspondence.

Griffes declared the meeting adjourned at 6:20 pm.
