Meeting Minutes 3-2-21

Leroy Township Hall, 1685 N M-52¸ Webberville, MI.

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor, Earl L. Griffes.

 Board Members present:  Earl L. Griffes, Wilma J. Whitehead, Heidi Ream, Loretta K. Benjamin.  Absent:  R. Scott Diederich.

Also present:  Dennis Dyko, James Utz, Sean Stocker, Nick Alexander, Steve Moreno, Monica Moreno.

 After review, Ream moved to accept the minutes of the February meeting as presented.

Support, Benjamin.  The motion passed.

 The Fulger property was discussed.  Supervisor, Griffes reported that there is no heat source in their mobile home and they have not moved in.  An occupancy permit is needed before they reside in the home.  A letter was mailed to them, from the Township Attorney and they hadn’t picked it up.  Griffes will deliver the letter to them.  The Board agreed to grant them an additional 30 days.

 A request for a Hardship Mobile Home Permit was reviewed, for Thomas H. Canfield, 1394 N. Dietz Road, Webberville.  Mr. Canfield has a medical condition, which requires him to have continuous care and his daughter will reside, in their original residence.  Their property is 2.5 acres parcel, without enough road frontage, to build another home on the property.  Motion by Benjamin to allow the Canfields to place a mobile home on their property, subject to all building requirements and permits and the hardship home must be removed when it is no longer needed, by Mr. Canfield.  Support, Ream.  Ream-Yes, Griffes-Yes, Benjamin-Yes, Whitehead-Yes.  The motion passed.

 After review, Benjamin moved to pay all bills as presented.  Support, Ream.  Griffes-Yes,

 A letter from resident, Rosa Jones, stating her opinion on the proposed Wind Turbine Project, was discussed.  A copy of the letter was made for everyone present.  James Utz commented, on the Township survey and how it will affect the project.  Apex representaives reply was that the survey is not an educated survey, which it lacks actual knowledge about the turbines.

 An email was received from a resident about the opening of the park during the winter months. 

The park is actually closed during the winter because of the liability and the need to plow the snow.   Motion by Benjamin to adjourn at 7:37 p.m.  Support, Ream.  The motion passed.
