Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor, Earl L. Griffes.
Board members present: Earl L. Griffes, Wilma J. Whitehead, Heidi Ream, Loretta K.
Benjamin, R. Scott Diederich. Also present: Larry Fulger, Shelly Hall, Lindsay Utz, James
Utz, Steve Moreno.
After review, Benjamin moved to accept the minutes as presented. Support, Ream.
The motion passed.
Public Comment: Steve Moreno presented a hand out on the impact and harm on people,
property values and the environment that wind turbines could create. He stated that the
setback needs to be five miles, to not have any impact from sound and vibration. Mr. Moreno
feels our zoning for windmills needs to be rewritten, to address there setbacks, height and
sound impact. Shelly Hall commented that the Township Ordinance doesn’t say they will be
allowed, just with restrictions and that they aren’t wanted.
Larry Fulger reported that their well is in, but still needs wiring. Their septic tank is sitting in
their yard and looking for a digger. Working on foundation, plumbing and need electrical
inspection, before hanging drywall.
Heidi Ream stated that quotes are still needed for the sidewalk, from park pavilion to the
play ground, before the Ingham County Parks & Recreation meeting, on September 27 th .
The Clerk contacted Peterson Trees, about obtaining a quote to plant trees, in the Webberville
Cemetery addition.
Because of the unreliability, of the current internet service, the Board decided that a quote
from Verizon, for at least a bock up service, would be a good idea.
The Zoning Ordinance Amendments, Article 18, and the minutes from the Planning Commission
work session were reviewed. It was determined that the Planning Commission is required to
hold a Public Hearing on these amendments and make recommendations to the Township
Board, prior to adoption. Diederich moved to table zoning amendments. Support, Ream.
The motion passed.
The change to have a private company do the mechanical and electrical inspections for the
Township, was discussed. Complaints have been received about the time it takes the State
Inspectors to respond to inspection requests. Griffes will get additional information on AGS,
located in Schoolcraft, MI., for their cost and response time.
The 2020-2021 Audit was presented. Additional time to review was requested and will be
addressed for adoption, at the October meeting.
N.I.E.S.A. meeting report was given by Griffes. Plans are to replace the 2008 & 2013
ambulances with budget funds, for $749,950.92. Also, mentioned that the Webberville
Fire Station will be paid for next year.
The bill were presented and after review, Benjamin moved to pay all bills. Support, Diederich.
